The maker movement has been building momentum and our goal with this project is to bring a major maker event and maker programming to our rural region.
The Maker event will have a keynote to inspire attendees and impart the importance of making.
Teacher candidates from SUNY Geneseo will serve as instructors and facilitators at the event, giving them valuable experience working with STEM activities. the need for teacher candidates at SUNY Geneseo to prepare for the changes happening in schools around the areas of STEAM instruction and the Maker mindset. We think that involving teacher candidates in community maker programming will help give them the experience and confidence they need to be successful in their future teaching positions.
